Tips for a successful peel

How to perform a safe and effective peel?

To gently manage the return from vacation and limit the reappearance of acne or other imperfections. Offer your customers a peeling treatment. The autumn is the ideal time to put peeling at the forefront of your treatment menu.

During the summer season, your customers are delighted to notice that the appearance of their skin has improved. The complexion takes on color. Redness is reduced. Imperfections are erased. Acne tends to disappear.

But as you know, it's not that simple. And your customers aren’t always aware that there’s a flip side to that pretty hâlé complexion. Under the effect of the sun, the skin thickens to protect itself. In the lower layers, the orifices of the sebaceous glands become blocked. Once the warm weather has passed, the skin becomes thinner, and microcysts and comedones appear.

In order to achieve safe and effective peels, we suggest you take a look at the fundamentals to follow for a successful peel.

Why is a peel good for the skin after a peel?

The peel will help à give a new départ à your client's skin. The peel expels dead and damaged cells. A few days after the peel, new skin appears.

Another benefit of peeling is the gradual disappearance of existing spots. The skin begins to balance the serum and induces positive skin cell renewal. Signs of aging and hyperpigmentation fade away.

Can the skin be burned with a peel ?

Esthetic peels absolutely do not burn! They provide your customers with an immaculate new skin effect, without burning and without side effects!

Aesthetic peels work in small steps to reduce imperfections and fine lines. Peels slowly remove dead skin layers. For this reason, peelings should be spaced 2-4 weeks apart. They do not cause any social hardship.

Dermatological peels can burn the skin. These peels are actually designed to burn the skin in a more or less invasive way, and a social viction is required. This may last a week or a month.

What are the contraindications to a peel?

The main contraindications are the classic contraindications for any aesthetic procedure:

  • Exposure to UV rays from the sun or sunbed before or after a séance.
  • Your client must not be pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Heavy treatments in progress such as chemotherapy or radiotherapy.
  • People with a possible allergy to fruit acids.

There are very few contraindications to aesthetic peeling.

Can peels be done all year round?

Sun exposure being a major contraindication to superficial peel treatments, it's advisable to avoid overly sunny months. The true peeling season is from September to April. However, if your client does not wish to go on vacation, it is perfectly possible to carry out the treatment in summer. There are also gentle peels that can be used all year round on all skin types. These gentle peels provide an immediate tightening effect. Your client's skin will immediately have an incomparable glow. A new skin effect.

Can peels be combined with other treatments?

Absolutely, you can combine the use of peels with other treatments.

Before the peel, you can use the Radiofrequency-fractional. After the treatment, you can practice microneedling, theneedle-free mésothérapie, LED Biostimulation. Combined treatments improve results exponentially! This tends to increase customer satisfaction.

Depending on the treatment, some will be applied during the second session. Others a few days later, so as not to over-stimulate the skin.

Can we do a peel and microneedling during the same séance?

It is entirely possible, and even recommended, to perform a peeling and a microneedling.

These two techniques complement each other perfectly. While the peel's action will be more visual and immediate externally on skin quality, microneedling's action will complement those of the peels by working on the regeneration and treatment of indications, in a deeper way, but the effects will be visually a little longer to appear.

These two treatments, peeling and microneedling, are therefore ideal for working in synergy. However, it's vital to have an adapted protocol when combining the two, as it will be very different from a protocol where these treatments are performed in a selective manner, for example.

Peelings and microneedling can be used in combination.
