Working method
Mechanical effect = "supra maximal" muscle contractions
The electromagnetic field passes through the body in a non-invasive and non-damaging way. The device targets the motor nerve cells and induces multiple intense and involuntary muscle contractions, similar to "crunches" for the abdomen and "squats" for tighter buttocks. These are called "supra maximal" contractions. Contractions of such intensity cannot be generated during normal sports training. With the BodyShape EMT, as many as 30,000 muscle contractions are generated in a 30-minute session.
Moreover, such muscle contractions require a large amount of energy during the treatment. To obtain this energy, the body will have to draw it from its fat. As with cryolipolysis, this combustion leads to a natural apoptosis and thus to a reduction in fat mass in the long term.
Follow-up burning: the effect on fatty tissue
Because of the intensity of the session, scientists believe that the metabolism remains strongly stimulated for 48 hours or more. This could explain why 2 to 2.5 times more energy is burned during exercise after an EMT treatment.
In other words, if you lose 500 kcal during an EMT session, you will lose 1000 to 1500 kcal within 48 to 72 hours after the session.
The more muscular you are, the more energy you use at rest, since muscles need energy to repair. So the more muscle there is, the more energy is burned and the higher the metabolism.
